I founded Broadreach in 1993, combining my love for teaching teenagers with my passion for scuba diving, sailing and wilderness adventure. Our first summer we had just 18 participants… Since then we've taken thousands of teenagers on hands-on, adventures across the globe, with over 800 teens participating in our programs each year. Broadreach has grown and changed over the years, and in my opinion, it just keeps getting better. Our staff has a real passion for what we do and are dedicated to ensuring our participants have the best possible experience with Broadreach, from the moment they enroll until they return home at the end of their trip. Our commitment to top-quality programming and ability to constantly innovate have made Broadreach a world leader in summer adventure programs for teens. Our academic adventure division, Academic Treks, has grown to include 20 different exciting course offerings that blend adventure with learning, service and cultural exploration. There are many companies today that offer summer programs for teenagers, but they are certainly not all equal. Even programs that may appear similar in terms of place or activity often take very different approaches to their trip design and way of doing things.
